Cookery Evening Classes are taught at these levels:

Beginners Cookery Skills

This is a practical 10-lesson course held weekly for people with little cookery knowledge. The course teaches you to entertain at home confidently and effectively. You will learn to interpret recipes, handle a variety of cooking equipment, understand technical terms and produce delicious food.

The emphasis of the course is on enjoyment of both the cooking and the classes. The food cooked can be taken home afterwards.

The subjects covered include knife skills, cooking meat, fish and eggs, pastry, sweet sauces, modern salads, bread-making, mayonnaise and meringues.

Evening classes begin at 6.30pm and generally finish at about 8.30-9pm. The price includes a copy of Leiths Bible at £30.

Confident Cooking

This 10-week course is particularly designed for busy people who want to put a delicious dinner party together quickly and simply. We assume a basic knowledge of cooking.

This course covers knife skills, making fresh pasta,  classic pastry, bread dough, filleting flat fish, sweet sauces, risotto and warm salads. It will incorporate Middle Eastern, Japanese and Modern British styles of cooking.

Classes start at 6.30pm and finish at 8.30-9pm.

Quick and Easy Cooking

This is a practical course for beginners and for those who want to learn how to put together very easy meals with little effort but achieve maximum effect.

Students will cook in pairs in a very relaxed environment. At the end of the session they will sit down and enjoy what they have cooked with a glass of wine. There will be few technical skills taught, but lots of handy tips and hints.

The cost of the course includes Leiths Simple Cookery Bible.
