Franchise Scheme for Schools

We run a Basic Certificate in Food and Wine at secondary schools. It is the only such scheme running in the UK. The course can be fitted into a school's Sixth Form timetable (Year 12) and generally takes place over 5 terms. It is designed to teach the basic skills necessary to become a confident and efficient cook.

The dishes prepared are interesting and imaginative with a balance between basic classical methods and modern recipes. Having completed the course not only will pupils be able to cook very competently they will also be able to find employment during their school and university holidays. Should they decide to take up cooking as a career they will be qualified to take the Two Term Diploma at Leiths School of Food and Wine.

The participating schools are shown below. If you would like to find out more about joining the scheme or changing your details on this page, please email Viv Pidgeon.
